Man
The general pronoun man is used to express what people in general do. Man may be translated as "we", "they", "people", "you", or "one". Man is always used in the singular and can be used in the different grammatical cases.
Nominative: man, Accusative: einen, Dative: einem, Possessive: sein
Example sentences:
- In Spanien spricht man Spanisch. (They speak Spanish in Spain.)
- Du erkennst einen nie. (You never recognize people.)
- Er erzählt einem immer nur das, was man hören will. (He always tells people only what they want to hear.)
- In den meisten Ländern der Welt muss man seine Kinder zur Schule schicken. (In most countries in the world people have to send their children to school.)
